Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Syllabus and Exam Pattern:

The Indian Coast guard service is an independent organization that operates under the Ministry of Defense. They are responsible for the safety of life and property at sea. Apart from that Indian Coast Guard Services never fails to attract those who wanted to protect their Nation integrity and offers a challenging field to Indian male/female, they can apply for different branches as an Assistant Commandant ( Group ‘A’ Gazetted Officer) The Exam of the Assistant Commandant is bit tough. In Order to become an Assistant commandant in the Indian Coast Guard, you will have to clear the different Phases of tests and interview to be the part of this service.

How to become Assistant Commandant in ICG:

To become Assistant Commandant in the Indian coast guard Serve, the Candidate must matches the following eligibility given below:

• The Candidate must be a citizen of India.
• In case of Migration from any other country is allowed but the candidate must have Valid Documents of India which could prove your citizenship.
• Only graduates are eligible to apply for this post.
• The candidate must have Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level with a minimum of 60% marks.
• The Candidate must have graduation in any Stream from any recognized Institute or University.
• The Age of the Candidate must be between 21 to 27 years old.

The eligibility criteria are different for other entries that are related to any particular field like Technical entries, Pilots entry and some others, whatever I have given in above is just basic requirement to apply for the Assistant Commandant post.  after this, you can apply for the Preliminary Exam and if you clear this you can apply for the Mains exam. Exam Pattern of Assistant Commandant of ICG:

The Exam of Assistant commandant would be in two phases and clearing each phase is mandatory. let’s discuss each Phase in detail:

Phase: 1 (Preliminary Exam):

While filling up the application form of the Assistant Commandant, You have to submit your mark sheet, pass certificate of relevant examination, caste certificate, character certificate, and two passport size photographs, etc. if the selection board will be satisfied with your marks and documents, then you will be called for the Preliminary Exam and in this exam, you will appear for:

• Mental Ability Test
• Picture Perception test
• Group Discussion etc

After this, the candidate who will qualify the preliminary exam will appear for the mains exam, the In the mains exam which is also called the Final selection Round.

The Mains Exam (Final Selection):

In the mains test or Final test the candidate will appear for this following tests:

• Psychology Test
• Group Test
• Interview etc

The main aim of this test is to check your mental ability and psychological Approach and the positive attitude of the candidates. After this, the candidate will appear for the medical test as per the Standards.

Medical Test:

In this, all the selected candidates will be fully checked by the military doctor in the nearest military Hospital and after clearing the medical, the candidate will get a Medical pass certificate.

Preliminary:

• Arithmetic reasoning
• Verbal and figure classification

• Syllogistic reasoning

Picture Perception and Discussion Test(PPDT):

You will be asked in this section: You will be shown a picture for 30 secs, later you have to write a story based on the picture that you have seen in 3 mins.

Mains Exam (Final exam):

In this, you will be asked from the Psychological question and regarding your life or any particular situation and you have to mark your reaction in that and after this, there will be Group test and Interview. which is just normal as other Interviews. There is no particular syllabus for the mains section and you just have to be honest while solving the psychological questions.
